Introducing the Mossberg 590S™ Pump-Action
With the introduction of the 590S Series of 12-gauge pump-actions, O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., America's oldest family-owned firearms manufacturer, continues its legacy of industry firsts. The 590S Series is capable of cycling 1.75, 2.75, and 3-inch shotshells interchangeably, in any combination, without the use of an adaptor.
The 590 tactical guns are based on Mossberg's iconic 500 pump-action platform and feature non-binding dual action bars, positive steel-to-steel lock-up and anti-jam elevator, dual extractors, drilled and tapped receivers, and an ambidextrous top-mounted safety. A handy clean-out magazine tube with cap for simplicity of maintenance has been added to the decades-proven 500 platform. Black synthetic stock and forend; cylinder bore barrel; matte blue metal finish; sling swivel studs; and logo-engraved receiver on all models are further elements of the 590S series.
A redesigned elevator and bolt slide, as well as the addition of an energy-absorbing bumper, are among the 590S' key design modifications. This patent-pending platform allows the user to load any combination of shotshell lengths (1.75, 2.75, and 3-inch) and shotshell types for their unique shooting needs. The 590S' overall capacity will also be increased by using shorter shell lengths.
